Sabbath School Hymn, L.M.
Dublin Core
Title
Sabbath School Hymn, L.M.
Description
Another week's forever gone,
And may each teacher now be taught
We may rejoice that we are blest,
The Lord will break their cruel chains;
Send down thy gracious Spirit, Lord!
With all the years beyond the flood,
Yet we are spar'd, this sacred morn,To come, and praise, and learn of God.
In sabbath school we constant meet,
Regardless of complexion here,Humbly to sit at Jesus' feet.
And may each teacher now be taught
To love and do his holy will -
That safe the scholar may pursue,In hope to meet on Zion's hill.
We may rejoice that we are blest,
And ne'er forget the orphan slave,
But raise him in the arms of faithTo Him who died his soul to save.
The Lord will break their cruel chains;
O! break the oppressor's harden'd heart;
Make him to feel 'tis God who reigns,Though he does act a tyrant's part.
Send down thy gracious Spirit, Lord!
Fill every heart with heavenly love:
Prepare us, by thy holy word,To join in freedom's song above.
