Te Deum

Dublin Core

Title

Te Deum

Description

Holy Father, thee we praise;
Thee, to everlasting days
Worshipp'd, glorified, adored;
We acknowledge thee, the Lord.
All the earth doth worship thee;
Powers of heaven in praise agree;
Angels to the cry aloud;
Saints in adoration bowed;
Cherubim before thy throne
Make thy might and glory known;
Seraphim with loud acclaim
Laud and magnify thy name,
Crying ever with accord,
Holy, holy, holy Lord.
Heaven and earth are full of thee;
Full of thy great majesty
Thee, Apostles own and bless;
Prophets thy great power confess;
Martyrs from the burning stake
Praise thee for thy goodness' sake;
All the Church on earth, with song
Joyfully the praise prolong.
Thee, the Father, they do own;
Thy most true and only Son;
And to guide them lest they err,
The most blessed Comforter.
King of Glory, thou didst come
And make the guilty world thy home;
Thou didst condescend to earth;
Humble, lowly was thy birth;
Thou didst prove a Saviour then,
Thou didst give good gifts to men;
Now, at the right hand of God,
Thou dost sit; a bless'd abode;
There for thine elect dost plead,
There for sinners intercede.
Help thy servants, Lord, we pray,
Save them in the judgment day;
Number them among thy saints,
Lend an ear to their complaints;
Mercy, Lord, in time of need;
From thy wrath may we be freed;
In thee only is our trust;
O remember we are dust.
