Sympathy

Title
Sympathy
Description
Within the heart of each and all,
A hidden recess lies:
Wherein some secret sorrow rests,
The source of all the sighs.
A blighted hope: ambition's wreck;
A love-like withered flower, -
Bearing in death a fragrance still,
That giveth it a power;
To sweeten yet with its faint breath
Of love's bright summer day,
The moments given to regret
For joys now passed away.
Some bear their load with troubled brow;
Some wear a smiling face,
As tho' no care within their hearts
Could find a resting place;
But each and every thirsty soul
Will filled with comfort be;
And bless the hand that gives to them
A kindly sympathy.
