Summer Greeting

Title

Summer Greeting

Description

Sweet the mission that it brings,
O'er our life a joy it flings,
We now hail it with delight,
Like a vision calm and bright.

Through the vale of passing years,
Through the mist of earthly cares,
Summer comes with breezes sweet,
Loving homes and hearts to greet.

On through various winding ways,
Through the toil of passing days,
Hearts are lightened with the chime
Of th' approach of Summer time.

Mount and vale, and rocks and rills,
Meadows sweet and distant hills,
All unite with mystic voice,
All can in the song rejoice.

All creation speaks the power,
Day by day and hour by hour;
Wondrous themes the seasons tell,
As they come with us to dwell.

Only for a while they stay;
Like our life they pass away;
Guided by an unseen hand -
He whose blessings crown the land.

Where the sunlight's glittering sheen
Sheds a beauty all serence,
There eternal Summer reigns,
Angels guard the golden grains.
