Title

Mount Zion Corner Store

Description

At the request of several friends the following poem was read, composed and presented by Rev S.M. Giles, as a memorial:

MOUNT ZION CORNER STONE

Almighty God thy blessings grant,

On what we here perform:

And may thy dwelling place be where

We lay this Corner Stone.

We consecrate to Thee O Lord,

The place on which we stand;

The offering that we now present,

Accpt it from our hand.

O may thine eyes be on this place,

Grant thy protecting care:

And when the saints together meet,

Then lend an ear to prayer.

Upon this sacred spot of ground,

May many souls find rest;

And numbered with salvation's heirs,

To be forever blest.

When those who hear us on this day,

Shall rest beneath the sod;

Then may their children fill their place,

In singing praise to God.

When time shall cease and saints no more

On earth together meet:

May those who sang God's praises here,

In Heaven each other greet.

With grateful hearts and holy fear,

We bow before thy throne—

Asking thy blessings where we lay

Mount Zion Corner Stone.
